Music’s Biggest Night?

….if you ask me I say biggest crock of shit. Sorry but yes I have to attend that thing and its the least bit entertaining. Sure some people are cool but frankly their choice of music is only on one list…..popular. Now people tell me that I should just shut up but ive been in this business for a long time and I see bands/artists get passed on so that the popular folks get to shine per usual. The Grammys are a stockpile of popular shit mostly consisting of pop and rap and once again boy artists…they dont deserve to be called bands. Pretty boys who are thrown together by a label to make them money. Thats the sole purpose. I mean really would 6 300 pound guys sell records today? 99.9997 % chance of hell no. Because music is based on looks today. I like how the Grammys idea of Rock is Muse or Coldplay…really? wow! What next? Maroon 5 is metal? I always stand up for metal and hard rock because it is a genre of music that always gets shit on yet the artists are more true to their craft than many others. They spend months in a studio writing original pieces of music, they play their instruments not arranged pieces by some hillbilly they never met. Rock artists are always considered to sing just about drugs and hoes. Not exactly!

The Grammys always show the same categories on the air. Never is Best Metal Performance given out live. To them metal is bullshit music. Not popular enough for the air. Tell that to the millions…wait tens of millions…hundreds of millions of people that buy those records and attend those shows. Its not just Katy Perry or Taylor or One Direction that sell out arenas and stadiums. Metal shows do it all the time. America will never understand. I mean it has taken America this long to finally get Rush into the Hall of Fame while one hit wonders have been in there. Really? My rants on this are mostly because metal/hard rock artists work just as hard if not harder than many other artists and never get the recognition they deserve. Sort of how it is in America with Mexicans. People love the food, the culture, the women yet they complain that America is filled with mexicans and want them sent home. These people like the rock music yet they dont give it the attention it deserves. I looked at the nominees for Rock. Coldplay….Muse….really? and those artists up against Bruce Springsteeen. Im not saying Bruce should win because he is more popular but the fact that those artists are even paired with a legend. Bruce is rock. those others…..fangirl crap. Most music today is fangirl crap. If it makes the girls scream then put it on the radio and give em awards. Wow. Metal legends Iron Maiden made a new album. Why couldnt they perform at the Grammys? One of the most prolific bands ever in rock/metal. Its a damn shame. “oh they have a skeleton as a logo thats satanic…” I bet thats what they say then …..”oh girls dont scream over them so no….” wow.

Many people I know dont care to watch the Grammys because its full of the same style of music performers. Thats one of my reasons. Spice it up. Show different performers. There was once a time when they would show live performances from rock bands. IN fact the only metal band that I recall ever performing on Grammys is Metallica and that was waaaaaay when I was a kid. Metallica sells out more arenas than Toby Keith or Chris Brown…etc. damn shame. But Music’s biggest night wont ever change. It will continue to be music’s biggest popularity contest. Where an American Idol asswipe gets more coverage than a real band whose worked their ass off to be in the limelight….

Im sure I know one person who if they are even reading this much of this post then im surprised because this person totally doesn’t share my viewpoint in music hence why we have hardly abything in common. But this is my blog and my opinions and im entitled to that. I pay for this space and this domain so ill speak even if people dont agree with me. I just feel the Grammys are a crock of corporate bullshit. Thank goodness for an awards program like Kerrang Music Awards where these metal artists can shine as they should be able to because in America its all a popularity contest for the rap and pop elite……

Just An Update

So yeah ive been quiet lately. Just havent really felt like blogging or anything else for that matter. After a busy 2012 the reward for all the work was going to Iceland. Noooo I didnt stay in a Hostel. lol. Actually stayed in Reykjavik and then in Grindavik. Saw quite a bit of scenery. There was some snow but much of it didnt fall until after I was gone. It was a fun trip. I have about 300 or so pics. So while I was there a friend told me she read an article about horse DNA found in the beef. I was like whoa! I didnt really eat any beef so i guess im good. I didnt eat Mr Ed then lol.

A few things have me a bit confused but im not going to spend too much time trying to figure any of that out. Not really worth the time. On another note I cracked my damn Droid screen. Its not cracked where you can actually see the scren but its cracked on the corner. im sure only a matter of time before the fucker cracks completely. Considering I am the worlds biggest klutz it wont last long. Trying to decide what kind of phone I want next. Galaxy Note or maybe wait for the S4. ehhh who knows. i actually got a free icrap from a friend. new in box but its for ATT not Verizon which I have. I have a buyer. lol. I think. Sell that sucker.

Well I guess ill shut up. I really dont have much to say. I watched Think Like A Man earlier. Whats funny is that these women were all crazy to read a book about how to understand men but when the men read the book to “protect” themselves from these women they got all pissed off. LOL these women were playing from beginning! sheesh. face it men, we are never right when it comes to relationships. 2+2 may equal 4 but if you want that pussy if she says its 6 then its 6! lol….ok well im out. more maybe soon. Im really sorry I just dont have much to say. I could sit here and describe the vacay but im sure not many care about a place named after ice!
