An Emotional Biggest Loser


I never really watched this show until this season. All these seasons and now I finally watched it. I have been watching it pretty much since the beginning. I don’t really favor anyone more than the other but I have found Koli, Sam, O’Neil and Michael as a huge inspiration. That doesn’t mean I dont see the others as an inspiration either but those guys just have a lot of heart.

During these last few weeks I have seen weights fluctuating and Sunshine has been lucky one too many times. I like her but I think this should be a wake up call for her now. Her father is not there physically to help her and guide her. Tonight’s episode leaves her without her father. I can understand O’Neil’s decision to ask the others to vote him off for his daughter. She now needs to kick it up a notch. She is too emotional and she needs to leave those feelings behind and get 100% focused or next week she may be below that yellow line again and going home.

My votes for next week below the line is Sunshine and Ashley or Koli. Either way, every single one of the contestants has accomplished so much. Those that are home now have continued their journey and still are succeeding. Im glad that they used Texas for the emphasis of one of the fattest states in America. It really is. The remaining 7 contestants did an outstanding job motivating others and helping give them the inspiration to continue on with their own weight loss goals. They are living proof that it IS possible when the impossible is believed.

Each contestant gives it their all. Even if they fall short of their goals on the show they give it their all. That is worth more than any monetary prize. The prize is their success and their motivation to inspire others. As I stated earlier the guys that have inspired me to kick it up a notch in my own fitness, each of them has given me and im sure others motivation to succeed. The show may be called the Biggest Loser but they really are the Biggest Winners. To go into a show and lose the numbers they have lost is incredible. The amounts they have lost total has been over a ton….a ton!! Thats alot of fat…This episode has been by far the best I have seen yet. The stakes will get higher and more emotional but thanks to their heart, a small number of Texans have felt the inspiration of the contestants which will spread across to others. I hope that more and more kids and adults in TX and across the country will put those video game controllers down and stop eating crappy fast foods and start looking into changing their health and their lives.

I have been on my own emotional roller coaster losing weight. I lose a considerable amount and then its like I lose a pound or two. It sucks but no matter the highs or lows we have to just push on and keep doing what we do. Losing weight is not easy by any means. It makes you cry, sweat, break down…etc…Thats all part of the process. For the guy that starts off at 302 pounds and two weeks later weighs in at 298. Thats accomplishment. For the woman that weighs 168 and 14 days later is at 154. Thats accomplishment. Or maybe the few that only lose 2 pounds in two weeks. That is still accomplishment. We bash ourselves over and over again because we dont reach our goals. I WANTED TO LOSE 10 POUNDS someone shouts but falls short. This is not a game. It is fitness. It is health. No one ever said it would be easy or that it would feel great. When you first start your workouts and change of diet you feel sick. You feel horrible. You feel like this is all for nothing. Why bother? Why should I do this? Im still going to be the fat guy/girl everyone said I would be back in school. NO YOU ARE NOT! Everyone can lose weight. It doesn’t matter if you are 15, 21, 28, 34, 45, 67….it doesnt matter. Everyone can do their best. Giving it your all is what matters. So what if you only lost 2 pounds. That is two pounds. Goto the grocery store and pick up a 2 pound pack of hamburger meat. Feel that? Thats what you just lost. Look at Michael this week. 15 pounds lost! You can do that too. You have to learn that the scale reads just numbers. You may like what it says and you may not. Exercise is just part of the equation. You dont have gas for your car, it wont go. You dont eat healthy, you get fatter. With good exercise and eating habits you can lose the weight you want.

So what if you only have 15 minutes to spare. Thats 15 minutes you can walk or do some cardio. Lift some weights. Don’t own any? Use some heavy books. There is no excuse for it. People will say they want to lose weight. They see their friends, co-workers and even family members on the road to success and they hear those haunting words, “i lost 12 pounds.” Then they feel disgraced that it was not them. Find the motivation. Get up and make a change in your life. Do it for your wife/husband, your kids, your parents…Whoever. Don’t be the person that doesn’t get to see their only son or daughter get married and have kids. Live a long life and grow old with someone…or alone if your like me!! LOL..

Everyone has the motivation. If you have thought of losing weight at any point in your life then you were motivated. The problem is you set too high expectations for it. Your not going to lose 160 pounds like any of these contestants in a short period of time. These contestants have been in a fixed environment and had supervision throughout all their workouts. At home, work and even on the road if you are like me you have to take it upon yourself to get up off your lazy ass and DO IT! Dont bask in your sorrows because someone you know lost 40 pounds and you cant. YES YOU CAN! Get off your ass and motivate yourself. Believe me, once you start doing something that physicallyy makes you happy you will enjoy your workouts more. Healthy foods don’t always taste bad. Its all in your head. People say, “i dont like veggies or meat.” Learn to like them. Your not going to accomplish those goals eating Big Mac’s and Ultimate Cheeseburgers 6 times a week. Learn to eat the foods you like but cutting out condiments. Craving a hamburger? Grab some Sugar-Free Whole Grain Wheat Bread and top it with some mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, spinach and of course some lean meat. Be it turkey, lean beef or a soy……

If you cant learn to eat healthy then all the working out is for nothing. Dont be the guy/gal at the gym rushing your workout so that you can go grab a new KFC Double Down. Fuck that shit. Stop thinking YOU CANT and start thinking YOU CAN. If you want to lose weight and haven’t got the courage to do so, NOW is the time. Start a program. Get with your doctor and come up with a good workout plan and diet. Dont diet for a short time. Learn to eat healthy for the rest of your life. A few years ago my friends Rick and Kyle and I went to the cemetery. We heard our friend Charlie had died from complications of diabetes. He was in his mid-twenties. Thats sad. It may not have been because he didnt do anything about his health. Some people it just sneaks up on you and gets you before you can do something about it. It was a wake up call. When I get the urge to quit I think about that. I didnt know him as well as the other guys but when someone you know is suddenly gone because of health reasons it makes you think. “That could have been me.” No one likes the thought of that. So, I ask you now if you actually are reading this to take a pledge for your health. Start a workout routine and healthy diet. 6 months from now and a year later if you stick with it you wont regret it and you will be happier with yourself and you will motivate others. Sometimes you motivate people without even knowing but knowing makes that reward at the end so much more worth it.

To those that decide to embark on your own journey, I wish you good luck….Over the last few days I have had a number of people tell me that I look as though I lost some weight. That is a great feeling and surely a motivational boost. JUST BRING IT!

  1. unhealthy overweight is considered as a disease, so people should do whatever they can to avoid it-there isnt too much talk about that.Their guilt if they became like that, I found no excuses for them, specially when they say they cant loose that weight. Maybe after all it is the easiest thing to loose weight-the hardest thing and U know it Gill- IS TO GAIN a healthy muscle weight, to bulk up some mucles-specially without protein shakes and without steroids. All that training is for nothing if U eat unhealthy-one female bodybuilder said: my look is 30% training & 70% diet. I dont need that: I am happy with my normal weight and I eat whatever I want, but work my ass of 6 of 7days in a week for 1hour/training.
