GPS Dumbass Does It Again

Sometimes I get so caught up with the beauty of nature that I forget to pay attention to the signs and the GPS. If you know by now I call my GPS Dumbass for its uncanny way of taking me to strange places! So earlier this morning after my cup of hot coffee. Rather 3 I might add….I felt like I had missed the turn-off for I-80. Sure enough after a smoke break and a bottle of water it was true….Dumbass was actually leading me to a private drive-way…Figures! lol….I love the GPS but sometimes it is really a dumbass. Hence the name folks. So I pulled out my trusty map and used my Bear Grylls skills and realized I was only about 14 miles off course. Sooooo, i turned around and headed back to the turn-off. Of course not before taking my usual middle of the road pics and another bottle of water. I mean I am really in no rush. I said RUSH! LOL Matter of fact I was listening to Rush: Snakes and Arrows Live at the time. Thanx Alex, Geddy and Neil for making me lose concentration! LOL just kidding

So I am stopped right now for some lunch. Hamburger steak smothered with lots of gravy and onions. mmmmmm Carmelized onions! A huge ass root beer and some mac and cheese and green beans. A meal fit for a king….or a traveling musician/tech/motorcyclist. lol So for now I bid you all farewell as I pay my bill and head back on the open road. California is in my sights by tomorrow. I think I am going to hit up the Loneliest Road In America….yes again…..I love that stretch of road folks….

Happy 1st Anniversary to My Blog

I didn’t really pay any attention to the time that has flown by but as I scanned my blog homepage I noticed that this is the first blog I have actively kept up with every month for an entire year. Perhaps it could be that I have paid for the gillgrylls.com domain as well. lol.

Anyways, April 1st is actually the birthday or 1st Anniversary of this blog and hopefully many more years to come of my insane thoughts and travels. So Happy Birthday to GillGrylls.com…that is feliz cumpeanos in spanish I think…yeah im horrible.

MMMMmmm Enchiladas: A Recipe From Gill Grylls

This is actually a recipe from an old place that used to be open when I was a kid and moved to Richmond TX. This was originally posted on my Facebook page.

Only those from Fort Bend County TX would remember the ol’ Richmond Drive-In and those damn delicious enchiladas. WELL…

I got the recipe and im going to post it on here according to the measurements they used in the restaurant back in the days. So just adjust the ingredients and amounts to however much you plan to make if you decide to try these.

Soooo here it goes….

Ingredients: (based on what the sheet says)

Flour – Bulk Net Wt. 24 oz / Reduced Net Volume 5 oz

Paprika – Bulk Net Wt. 5.5 oz / Reduced Net Volume 1 oz

Cumin – Bulk Net Wt. 5.5 oz / Reduced Net Volume 1 oz

Chili Powder – Bulk Net Wt. 7 oz / Reduced Net Volume 1 1/4 oz

Salt – Bulk Net Wt. 1 oz / Reduced Net Volume 1/4 oz

Pepper – Bulk Net Wt. 1 oz / Reduced Net Volume 1/4 oz

Minced Garlic – Bulk Net Wt. 2 oz / Reduced Net Volume 1/2 oz

Beef Chili Meat – Bulk Net Wt. 10 lbs / Reduced Net Volume 2 lbs

** Use American Processed Cheese like the Deluxe or Velveeta Cheese

** Looks like it says to use 48 oz of water to make the enchilada sauce . Can’t tell its slightly faded

Says to bake on 350 for 15 minutes till cheese bubbles

Ohhh and dont forget the onions if you like em…..

yeah so thats the recipe….im gonna have to try this.

Im sure you can figure the ingredients measurements to make a smaller batch…

Airlines Charging for Bags?!? Get Over It People!

Today on Facebook I was reading a new post by Kathie Lee and Hoda and the subject of the post was Spirit Airlines charging $40 for carry on luggage that fits in overhead storage. SOOOOOO, here is my take on this and most of you will probably not agree with me but here is my opinion.

First off, you are buying an airline ticket. Meaning you are already spending anywhere from $100 to $2000+ for a ticket depending on your destination. So honestly, what is $40? People goto the movies to see stupid ass 3D movies like Avatar, Alice in Wonderland and the new shit disappointment Clash of the Titans. You spend well over $40 there. Two tickets, drink, popcorn, candy…extra tix for your brats!!! Yeah SOOOOOO why the fucking fuss over $40? Ok try this if you actually use money and not that magic credit card in your wallet….Take all your spare change and put it in a jar or bank. You know at the end of two weeks I usually have anywhere from $30-$50 in spare change. Spare!!! Yeah from all that lil change we throw around!! THAT spare change can pay for your bags!!!

So really people stop complaining about mediocre crap. We live in a world where everything goes UP in price. Your lucky if anything drops in value like gasoline. Some people have horrid spending habits on things they dont need. This adds to their frustrations when it comes to extra flying costs. I fly first class. I get extra leg room and a neat lil place under my seat for my laptop backpack. I use miles to pay for shit most of the time. If you have miles why not use them and then the $40 fee wont seem as bad!!!

Next, if you are going on a vacation and you just booked 5 tickets for you and your spouse and kids then obviously you just threw down about $1000 or more on tickets. Really people what is $40? Throughout the duration of your trip you will most likely spend $40 on something you dont need or on a meal you dont really need to spend that much on. Technically you need your clothes right? Unless that is you are going to a nudist colony then well no bags needed!! lol…We pay fees for everything these days. You pay weird ass fees for your cell phones, cable bills, mortgages…etc….you cant get rid of them they are just there. Accept that America is a costly country to live in and you have to pay fees for everything you want. That is unless you are middle eastern or something. Foreigners get away with alot of shit. No taxes…etc….Thats a whole different topic I wont go into. I will say this though…Foreigners may not pay taxes but they WORK their asses off. How many times have you seen Taj or Mohammed not at his store? Thats right they believe in work ethic. American’s believe that they are entitled to months of vacation time. If you cant afford to live on your own and have kids then dont have them. Dont buy stuff you dont need. Thats the problem with America. Alot of Americans want things they cant really afford yet they still put themselves in a bind to have it and later suffer.

The airlines are a safe means of travel. I love to fly. I love airliners and airports. I accept that rising costs in fuel and other charges mean higher prices. If you also fly as often as I do or as others then you know that prices fluctuate and it also depends on when you book. Last time I went to Vegas I paid $248 for my ticket. The next time I went on a plane I paid $195. So even if I paid $40 in baggage fees it would still add up about the same. No complaints from me.

The key is this…if you cant afford to fly and pay the fees and still have money to spend on your trip then DONT FLY!!! Simple!!! Drive instead. If your company pays all your fees then no problem. Why bitch if you have to pay $40 out of your pocket. Im sure your company would reimburse you. If not oh well. You need your belongings. For the love of god stop charging shit like airline tickets if you cant afford the credit card bills to begin with. That is what hurts Americans. They think that magic card is the key to getting everything they want. OOOOH I CAN CHARGE THIS 3D TV!?!? OH I CAN CHARGE THIS LOUIS VUITTON PURSE?!?!? Seriously, if you know you cant afford the monthly bill or to pay the balance off in full then DONT DO IT!!!!

Happy Late Easter or Whatever from the Road

Hello my friends! Sooo how are the fuck are you? lol…..Well for me its been a nice weekend. Started off the trip with a ride from home in Malibu to Lake Tahoe. Was a peaceful stretch. Nothing new except a few roads i detoured on. Nothing new for me. I ended up in Lake Tahoe late. Around 9pm and checked into my room. Excellent shot from my room window of the lake. I spend the weekend here rather than continue on to Yellowstone National Park as I had planned. Thats ok though because my room at the Ol’ Faithful Inn was booked for Tuesday so I have plenty of time to get there. About 850 miles. Not bad. I can do that in a day depending on the traffic and weather.

So hopefully you all had a happy easter or whatever it is you may celebrate. If nothing then thats cool too! I really dont care about holidays. As a ghost rider I just care about having fun and traveling. Really felt good to get back on that open road again and see the sights of the USA. I heard there was a 6.9 scale earthquake back home but little damage was done. My neighbor called me and told me it wasnt much but a lil rumbling. So thats good to hear. Sunday was full of fun. Had lunch and dinner with other travelers enjoying the lake. The hotel had a feast and we all dug in! I met this guy and his wife from Wyoming that decided to get away. An older couple. They asked me why i was traveling alone. I told them I didnt have a family and that I was just a traveler on two wheels. They asked me about my travels. I guess it interests people to hear about where a lone traveler has been. I met a few women too. Yeah I added a few numbers to my Blackberry lol. Not a bad set of women either lol. I guess for me I still feel too fat to meet women and these two I met were total mother fucking knockouts. One of them i started talking to and the other just approached me. She said I had that “come talk to me” look. Well lets see I had on jeans with my brown skechers shoes and a casual button shirt that says South Sea Tiki Lounge. lol….

So anyways, attached is a rough draft of a route im gonna take to Yellowstone. I might make a few road detours knowing me! Depends…Actually was thinking of hopping onto 93/I-80 in Wells and heading to Salt Lake City again and hit up the Red Rock Brewery again. The got some insane soups and beer!! lol So honestly thats probably the route I will most likely take. I thought about heading to Boise Idaho to maybe meet up with my friend Rachael but thats kinda backtracking for me and I dont really want to put myself in a situation that I dont make my goal in time and lose my room reservations.

If your wondering about my P90X, yes I am still on it and I have all the DVDs ripped to my external drive I carry with me and i just hook it up to my laptop and use VLC media player to open the ripped folders. God I could go for a damn drink right now. Im thirsty as a mother fucker!! I really should be getting to bed because im leaving around 7am and i really am tired. I still got those hot chicks on my mind. One of them was back here in my room earlier. Yeah, did the wild thang….I mean come on I am a man and I have sexual desires and she was willing. So hey with protection whats wrong with two consenting adults having a good fuck?!? I spent too many years wallowing away in my sorrows over my ex-girlfriend I will call “Shelly” and I just got tired of it. I guess even as a bigger guy I am still quite the ladies man when I wanna be and dress up nice. Earlier for dinner I sported my jeans and adidas shoes with a sports jacket. Oh yeah the ladies were lookin. Not laughing….looking. I sort of felt like Huey Lewis in that video “I Wanna New Drug” when he is sportin the dress jacket while he goes onstage. Hell yeah man.

So anyways thats the recap of my last few days on the road. Good travels, excellent cold weather as you all know I love me some cold ass snowy weather and of course good food and company. The night of hot sex with a beautiful blonde with green eyes was the icing on the cake for this holiday/trip. Not to mention she texted me and said, “round 2?” LOL….now thats some funny shit! I said sure and she said I wish but I have to get to sleep. She was heading with friends back to Las Vegas area where she lives. I will surely be making a B-Line to Vegas to hook up with her again im sure. Nothing like having a hoe calling your room at 7am asking if you want “company” lol…

So until next time, probably meaning Tuesday or so I bid you farewell and I promise to keep you all updated and post some pics of the trip. Mostly on here or my Flickr page. From the hundreds of pics I take I usually just try to pick the best of the bunch but thats fucking hard! When I take pics I use all my cameras. Blackberry camera, my LG Dare has a pretty awesome camera, my Nikon D40 SLR, and a Sony Cybershot…Yeah I never can say I dont have a mother fucking camera with me! LOL…..This survivalist/ghost rider is prepared! Oh and yeah I DID enter the Bear Grylls contest to be on a future episode with Bear Grylls on Man Vs Wild…..Ive done some pretty wild shit out in nature and pics to prove it so thats what I used as my story. Only thing that might X me is that I dont look like a god damn skinny soldier. lol BUT Bear knows im qualified!! lol

I just checked my inbox and UGH…..so peace out mofos and I really wish I could be hooking up with Eva and Denis this month on the 23rd for their lil meet up. Dont know if they are meeting up in Slovenia or Bosnia but would be cool!
