Steve Jobs 1955-2011

First off many know I am not an Apple fan by any means. Therefore I really can’t say anything about Steve Jobs that will fascinate you. With his death days ago I had to stop all the teasing because it just wasn’t right to do. I still won’t be an Apple fan but I will give my sypathy to his family on his death.

I guess thats why he decided to step down as CEO in order to enjoy what was left of his life. Makes me wonder why a man with all the money couldn’t get treatment for his situation. Then again I guess it was at a point where it was untreatable. I dont know. Im sure others do. Like i say though, I didn’t follow the life of him.

He did create a kick ass Apple IIe computer which I remember creating stupid loop programs and shit back in elementary school. lol. Thats about all I can say. Out of respect for his family and his followers I simply wanted to post this to pay respects to the innovator he was and will continue to be. I can’t see myself paying that much for a laptop but then again I am a PC guy so those that like MACs im sure will continue to enjoy his products. For those that do, thats the biggest tribute to the man they could do.

It is true that many of his ideas were incorporated in the computers we use today. I guess I grew to like computers because of that Apple IIe tan colored big ass computer LOL.

So as I end this, thanx Steve Jobs.

Apple to Release iOS 4.3 This Month/December

If you already have jailbroken your phone and upgraded the bb to 6.15.00 you might wanna know that Apple is once again releasing new firmware. iOS 4.3 is set to come out in the next week or two with App Subscriptions.

You can find info on this release easily just by googling iOS 4.3. If your a jailbreaker/unlocker then you know by now to NOT upgrade your phone. Well, if you upgraded to bb 6.15.00 you wont be able to from my understanding. When you upgraded the bb you pretty much rendered your phone only able to install firmware by using custom IPSWs.

Those using the 3GS will be happy to know that an untethered jailbreak is soon to be available. Its a known issue that the GPS chip has been disabled after the new Ultrasn0w 1.2 unlock. Some have reported that thier GPS is still working. Well I guess your in the lucky few…..somehow! Ive read that the dev team is looking for a fix for that if possible. More info is available on the limera1n website and the iphone dev team blog website.

iPhone 3G/3GS Unlocking w/ Ultrasn0w 1.2 Battery Drainage Fix

you can use a valid AT&T SIM card to activate the phone. I didnt have this problem when unlocking my friends phone. I had an old AT&T SIM in the phone so as soon as it was done unlocking, rebooting and opening iTunes the phone said activation complete and was done. When the phone doesn’t activate using the SIM it is constantly trying to activate via SIM so its draining your battery. Read the article about this fix.

Sorry, I have not applied this fix so I really can’t help anyone with it. I’d suggest asking the devs or other members from a forum. This is just up to help those looking for the battery fix. The fix is contained in Redsn0w 0.9.6 beta 6. download it free. Link is on the page I listed above.

Jailbreak & Unlock iPhone 3G/3GS by Upgrading to BB 6.15.00

Im in no way an iCrap fan but after the last two weeks of working on a friends iPhone 3G to unlock it and the crap I went through to get it done I thought I would share all the shit I ended up learning on this with others. So read what I have on here and you can goto the two links below for more info and im sure more easy step by step instructions.

These sites will give you info on when iPhone4 baseband 2.10.04 will be able to jailbreak and unlock. Devs have already seen exploits that should allow for this soon. Stay tuned to their blogs/sites daily for info. Please dont hound the developers for release times. THey will release when it is 100% known to work.

Many of you have been flooding the internetz with off the wall posts and bitching about HOW TO UNLOCK THE IPHONE. well if you updated your iPhone to iOS 4.1 or 4.2 and your baseband is 5.14.02 or higher then you can easily JAILBREAK AND UNLOCK it. YOU MUST follow the steps though and do everything as said. It really doesn’t take long. In fact the longest time you will spend is downloading the IPSW files you need.

First off you need some tools. If you are using a Windows XP/Vista or Windows 7 system then this is the list of steps you need and the materials you need to get this done right. Before continuing, if you have an iPhone 3GS then you NEED to put your phone on iOS 4.1 firmware. If you are on iOS 4.2.1 already you can unlock with this installed BUT you will ONLY have a tethered jailbreak. Meaning you need to tether each time you boot the phone. If you install iOS 4.1 firmware on your 3GS then the jailbreak will be untethered. I read this on a developer blog. Dont ask me where because ive read enough shit about this already that I didnt save the fucking link! LOL

SOOOO you will need these items and I will provide you with download links to get the firmware and programs.

You Need:

*iPhone 3G/3GS of course
*iOS 4.1 or iOS 4.2.1 IPSW firmware files
*Redsn0w Latest Release 0.9.6 beta 5

First things first. What firmware is your phone running? 4.1 or 4.2? Before I begin explaining things you have to remember a few tips. If you are running iOS 4.1 on a 3G then you are fine. Same with 4.2. If you are running iOS 4.2.1 on a 3GS then you NEED to install iOS 4.1 on your phone. Reason?!? well on iOS 4.1 you get an untethered jailbreak. With iOS 4.2.1 you get a tethered jailbreak and you will need to tether each time you boot the phone to jailbreak. Its your option but i’d go with iOS 4.1 on your 3GS.

Make sure you update your iTunes to the new 10.1 version. If you need to install a stock FW on your phone do so by connecting your iPhone and turning it on. Once it prompts you to install iOS 4.1 or 4.2 you can do so. When using redsn0w later you will need the IPSW Firmware file for the version your phone is running in order to use redsn0w.

Ok. So before you run Redsn0w on your Windows Vista or Windows 7 machine make sure you do a few things. Right click on the redsn0w file in the folder you unzipped. You will need either WinZip or WinRAR to unzip the folder or you can let Windows use the built-in feature it has.

Before using Redsn0w Do the following: (Win Vista and Win 7 Only)

*Right click on the redsn0w file and goto Properties
*Check the box to run in Windows XP Compatibility Mode
*Check the box to Run in Administrator Mode
*Click OK and your done here.

Now run Redsn0w. You will see the redsn0w program come up Do the following in Redsn0w

*Run Redsn0w
*Click Browse
*Browse and point redsn0w to the IPSW file YOUR iPhone is currently running
(if your phone has iOS 4.1 then select the 4.1 IPSW. if using 4.2 then select that IPSW)
*Once the IPSW is verified successfully click next.
*Make sure Install Cydia and Install iPad Baseband are checked then continue
*Now turn off and connect your iPhone to your computer using the USB cable
*Be ready to put your iPhone in DFU Mode quickly after the screen tells you to turn off.
*Follow prompts and once your phone is in DFU Mode it will performs tasks then reboot.
*Redsn0w says waiting for reboot. Let phone reboot and finish installation.

Once you are at this stage your phone has now been jailbroken and redsn0w has installed Cydia. If your phone is not already connected to a WIFI network I would suggest doing so or insert a valid AT&T SIM. You will need to have access to a network via WIFI or mobile so that Cydia can download and update packages. I had a T-Mobile unactivated SIM in the phone when I did this. At first the phone would reboot and only show the Emergency Calls Only screen. At this point open iTunes assuming you have installed the new 10.1 version. Your phone will now say Activation in Progress and gives you the option to Dismiss. You should now be able to access the springboard were as before you couldn’t. Just open iTunes!!

On the springboard scroll to the last page of icons and tap Cydia. It will run and then close itself down. Re-open it. You may be prompted to reboot the phone to continue. Once Cydia has been opened again let it finish loading and re-loading data.

Now follow these steps in Cydia to install Ultrasn0w to unlock your phone

*Open Cydia and let it load/re-load data
*Tap on Manage at the bottom of the screen and goto Sources.
*Under Sources you should see http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com repository already in the list. if not add it.
*Select the Ultrasn0w repo and install. It should be Ultrasnow 1.2
*After installation your phone will prompt you to reboot!
*Tap the reboot button and let your iPhone reboot.

At this point after your phone has been jailbroken and you have gone through Cydia and installed Ultrasn0w 1.2 your phone should now be unlocked!!! You can now enter any SIM such as a T-Mobile SIM and enjoy your new unlocked iCrap!

TROUBLESHOOTING AFTER UNLOCKING

Many of you may have done this already and looking for a solution because you are not getting network access with an non-ATT SIM. There solution is pretty simple assuming you have done everything exactly as it should have been done.

If you have jailbroken and unlocked but have NO network access for your SIM then do the following:

Tap on the Settings > General > Network
Under Network the first option you see is Enable 3G. It is most likely set to Enable. Tap it to DISABLE it.

After reading past unlock instructions which informed to disable 3G before unlocking I did so with this unlock before installing Ultrasn0w. Still after doing so 3G service does not appear to be working but EDGE for T-Mobile does. So if your not getting SIM access for your card then disable 3G and your phone should start running on the SIM within a few moments. If not reboot and it should be working assuming you unlocked correctly.

KNOWN ISSUES:

* Many are reporting GPS issues. GPS not working
* Many are reporting lag on the phone after unlocking (I experienced a slight lag myself on iOS 4.1 unlock)
* No SIM network coverage after unlocking (disable 3G in Settings>General>Network)

Redsn0w ISSUES:

* Stuck on Waiting for Reboot (make sure you have the correct FW file loaded that your phone is using)
* Wont Verify IPSW file. (make sure you have downloaded the correct IPSWs for your device!!!)
* Ran Redsn0w but didnt update baseband (make sure you have ran redsn0w in XP Mode and as Administrator)
* Redsn0w taking long time to update baseband files (redsn0w access Apple servers to update to 6.15.00 baseband. The servers are bombarded. Give it some time!)

UPDATE: – FIX FOR 3G/3GS BATTERY DRAIN AND ULTRASN0W OVERHEAT

A) 1st Solution: try to activate the phone using the official sim if u have it (even if the sim itself is old and not working) , or borrow it from a friend if it’s possible, by any means, try to have an access to one and use it
B) 2nd Solution: if A is not feasible, u can install SBsettings from featured cydia packages and turn wifi and data off when u r not using it (shuts down both 3g and edge) , till C is done
C) 3rd Solution: there is a very nice module being worked on by a trusted jailbreak app dev, namely @sbingner , which ll resolve that issue for those having it, the details of which shouldn’t be disclosed until he finishes his awesome work, till then, either use A or B to resolve the issue if it exists for you

iOS 4.2 & Baseband 5.14.02 Unlocking….Glad I Dont Own iCrap

so a friend of mine came to me asking me to unlock and jailbreak his iphone 3G. Well the jailbreak of course was quite simple. Worse case scenario? He updated his iphone to the new iOS 4.1 which also updates the baseband to 5.14.02. I dont know if it updates the bootloader too but his is at 5.9 and if it was at 5.8 I hear that somethign could be done to unlock this fucker. So for the last 2 days or going into two days I have been trying to figure this shit out. The only thing about the “bright” side is that I have all these fucking icrap programs to unlock other phones in the future lol.

So i read that Apple has not released iOS 4.2 and it wont be for another 10 days or so from now. Its safe to say that POSSIBLY it might come out by Turkey Day. Thats Thanksgiving for those that are not keen on our American holiday Thanksgiving. So after all the bullshit, slamming my fist on my desk countless times and …..well you know getting pissy. I just decided the best thing to do at this point is to just put the thing aside, give it back to him and keep an eye out for the new iOS 4.2 because the hacks will be released around the same time. THEN i can unlock his unruly phone. lol. I charged him $25 bucks to do it. Honestly it doesnt bug me to spend all the time trying because through all the trial and error and shit, it might pay off later to unlock more of STeve Jobs contraptions for fanatics. lol.

So in the end, its a waiting game. So if your an Apple icrap lover which I am NOT, then I will have to wait to get his phone cracked just like the rest of you. Ive gone through all the BS. Downgraded the phone to a custom 3.1.2 IPSW firmware, tried the redsn0w shit, welll you get the picture. So instead of getting a coronary over this phone ill stick with playing with my phone while my friend Thomas gets pissy because he will have to wait to use his used iphone 3G on T-Mobile and I get to enjoy my awesome HD2. lol

So if your an iphone user that really really really really really really really needs these hacks, i suggest you wait it out and stop whinning over it. The more you whine the longer you will wait. Apparently, Apple has held up the release of it because of a wi-fi bug for the ipad and I guess because of that they are holding back all the updates until its fixed. I personally think Steve Jobs likes making his worshippers wait. Go ahead Steve, im not one of your worshippers! lol

dont have much time in my busy schedule to be on the internet or blog so I am going to make this quick.

a friend on Facebook posted a link about people that leave their kids in a hot car and their kids dying. It said something about 37 deaths so far or so. Thats pretty fucking pathetic if you ask me. I will post the link. I didnt read the entire thing but its pretty self-explanatory.

Ok so there is the link. Here is what I think is so fucked up about this. Ok im no father. I dont have kids and I never have knocked up any woman. I think its crazy that these people forget their kids in the backseat of the car while commuting to work and/or the day care. I bet those people dont forget their work, briefcase or their cell phone. Wait, im sorry Apple whores i mean I PHONE! Yes I know, you Apple people are tempermental about your gadget because you think its the messiah of phones! Hate to tell you but not only has HTC topped your device but Sony is soon to release a phone that will top them all. Ok so back to the story lol. Sorry, you know I have to throw my two cents in about Apple constantly. So yeah its messed up that these people wont forget their phones in their car but they forget their kids.

Sorry people but “i was late”, “i was running late”, “I have alot on my mind”, “i have an important business meeting to get to”….etc….those are NOT excuses. NOTHING is an excuse for leaving your kid(s) in the backseat of your car and letting them fry like and egg and die. If you really think an excuse is going to constitute what you did and somehow make your answer valid and worthy then your quite fucked in the head. There is NO excuse and no words can fix the craptastic situation you would have brought forth on yourself. Could you really look your spouse in the eye and tell them your job or meeting was more important than your kid? how about the kids grandparents. Could you tell them you kid wasn’t worth as much as that big promotion?

in closing, its really sad that people show their true colors and where their priorities in life lie. First off, i understand if your phone is in your bag, purse or briefcase but if you are using it while driving which you shouldn’t be in the first place then there is no excuse. You can replace a fucked cell phone left in the car all day but not a kid. Well, technically yes you would replace a kid too…as sick as that may sound yes you can but its the idea and the fact that it is THAT kid. Sure a couple could fuck and make more babies but its the moral of it all. You just dont leave a kid in a hot car. That goes for animals too. You know Im not a dog lover by any means but its fucking cruel to leave your dog in the car in hot weather. Put a thermometer in your car and leave it there all day or for a few hours and see how hot it gets in there and how quickly!

So people, have some common sense, take each day slow and make valid decisions in your life. Dont be a fuck up and forget your kid in the car and end up in a horrible situation like this. I may not want kids much now in my old age but hey, they dont deserve to be treated like shit in the backseat of your car.

Maybe I should propose some type of alert/warning device that attaches to the seatbelt and when your car goes off alerts you in the driver seat with a flashing light and alert tone so you DONT forget your kids in the backseat.

Ok so that is all with this rant! You can all pick up your iphones and use them now!!! LOL

many that know me enough know that I do not have a problem speaking my mind about anything. In fact that’s what makes me who I am. It has made many probably not like me but you know, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and im no exception. Lately, I have spoke my mind about Apple and iphones. Also World Cup and the USA team. I wont go into deep discussion but if you know me enough you know that im not an Apply fanboy and im wasn’t going for the USA in the World Cup.

My reasons for Apple is the hype. The media hype that Steve Jobs is a whore for. His phones are NOT the best on the market but Apple fanatics wont accept that. Already problems with antenna and if you follow the Cnet show Buzz Out Loud then you have heard their discussion already about the antenna issues and how Apple could have fixed this at the design stage. Instead they want to sell you a $40 case that will fix the problem…hmmmmm

With the World Cup, I just dont see the point in going for a team that doesn’t play soccer yearly. Countries like Brazil, Germany, UK, Mexico, Portugal….etc, they play soccer yearly and it is their national sport. Some of the greatest games in the history have been played in their stadiums and by those teams. The USA….nope! Its not that I dont have pride in the USA. I just dont feel the need to go for a team that doesn’t feel the need to be involved in soccer except for the World Cup. David Beckham doesn’t count America! He is British! LOL.

Anyways, thats my opinions. Most will be against me but others will be for me. In fact, earlier tonight a friend of mine that lives in Montreal posted a pic on his page about how many Americans would follow the World Cup now that the USA has been eliminated and the results are just as I figured. More people voted NO they would not continue watching the World Cup. Thats a shame. I may not understand the game but even outside of the World Cup when Mexico would play, its interesting to watch.

I dont really follow the Olympics either. Its interesting how they make these competitions worldwide so that countries can brag about who is better. Its not even that though. The USA tends to believe they are the superior country over any other in the world. They are not. America may be the land of the free but believe me its not as free as you think. It costs money to live in this country. Back in the days people criticized Russia for how the people were treated. You couldn’t do anything because you risked being arrested. You couldn’t own porn because you risked going to prison. In America its becoming the same. They want to regulate everything you do. Everything you say. You cant even have a conversation on your cell phone through text messages without the government wanting to get involved because you might be a terrorist….woooooooo!

Still though, its a nice country to live in but the government to me will stray away from democracy and more towards dictatorship. They wanted to bring down Saddam Hussein so bad yet in America they watch every little thing you say and do. Even though I am an American hispanic I like to think of America as the Nosey Country. They want to know everything going on in other countries but when other countries want to know what is going on here they want to keep a lid on it. They dont want other countries knowing what is going on here. Doesn’t seem fair no matter how you look at it.

Americans also seem to hate seeing mexicans in America yet they do all the hard labor that white America won’t do for such little pay. The mexicans will take whatever they can get for a better life! Americans also seem to treat Middle Easterners bad as well. Sure I joke around with their accent but hey let me tell you this. Middle Eastern people are some of the most devoted workers around. They may not do all the hard labor but when they do a job they do it! They run their stores and their businesses and they will do it day in and day out with what seems like no vacation. Many of them plenty of money yet they dont live in mansions or drive fancy cars whereas Americans get a high paying job and BAM there is the Mercedes Benz in the drive way and the $500,000 home. Its crazy.

Americans complain about the economy but many dont realize that they are part of the problem. Their spending habits and excessive credit card abuse bring them to outrageous debts. No one forces them to run up every card to their maximum limit and then be in debt for the rest of their lives. Its their greed.

so anyways, I have my opinions. As I stated earlier most people wont agree with me. Some will. I am entitled to my opinions and everyone that reads this is entitled to respond back with their own hateful comments. Thats fine. Thats what makes America free. Freedom of Speech. I dont have to like everything American to be an American. Hell I know people that buy nothing but foreign made cars. Doesn’t make them less of an American because they choose to buy Honda, Toyota or BMW rather than Ford and Chevrolet! Before I would get angry when others would say things against my thoughts. Ive learned to accept all comments. Im somewhat of an internet debater. I like to bring forth issues and discussions that many wouldnt think of speaking about because it allows people to speak their minds. People will comment on here and say im communist because I didnt go for the USA in the World Cup. Who says I have to go for America in the World Cup? Barack Obama? Arnold Schwarzenegger? No one! In fact in California you will see the Mexico flag flying everywhere with people going for Mexico in the World Cup. Many of those people are probably immigrants from Mexico and others are US Citizens who perhaps come from a mexican background and wish to go for their country. I went to a pub the other day and a group of guys was going for England. Hey they were British. Those same guys were going for Germany as well in their discussions. Another agreed with me about the USA. SO its just opinion.

I had one person tell me that I should get the fuck out of America if I dont like them. LOL. Yeah ok! Another said I should chill out because i was for the most part out of line. How? Its my opinion! Now if i argued with you that 2-2 was 1 and not 0 Then yeah you have a reason to get pissy with me because the answer is 0 but if i choose to not like a team I have that right. Im from Houston. I dont like the Houston Astros baseball team and I dont like the Houston Texans football team. Thats my right and if I choose to wear a Dallas Cowboys jersey to a game thats also my right. No where in law is it written in America that a person in that city, in that state in that country must go for their respective teams or they should get the fuck out.

so I will like what I like and have my opinions. You can agree with me or hate me. Thats fine. Im not going to like you or hate you any more or less. Its part of life folks and not one person in this world is equal in our thoughts yet we are equal as man; homo sapien.

People should really learn that others are not going to like the things they like and that they shouldnt get pissy about it. I always write about how I dont like Apple even though I know people like them. I post derogatory links and I also post links of interest to those people. I dont like the Twilight movies yet for my friends on Facebook that are friends I posted a few links about stories and stuff they would like. I may not always do it but I do recognize that people like the things I may not like that there is nothing wrong with that. Im not God and im not telling anyone to follow me or feel the way I do. its just my opinion and thats all it is. Take it or forget it however you choose to deal with it but dont tell me that im wrong and that I should die or get the fuck out because I dont agree with you. There are things that I like that others dont like. Thats fine. I like rock music and classical. Others dont. Im not going to say to people that if they dont like rock music and classical that they are stupid and idiots. Its just my perogative to like what I like and you like what you like! Period!
